Reducing Our Environmental Footprint
ANZ's new workplace at 833 Collins Street in Melbourne's Docklands precinct will reflect ANZ's commitment to reducing its environmental impact. The workplace is the largest, greenest commercial office building currently under construction in Australia. It will be home to over 6,500 ANZ staff and is due for completion in late 2009.
The building will be one of the world's most environmentally progressive financial sector workplaces. It is registered for a Green Star rating with the Green Building Council of Australia for the categories 'Office as Built', 'Office Interiors' and 'Office Design'.

The impact
Against average Australian office buildings, greenhouse gas emissions are expected to be reduced by 60% in ANZ's new Docklands building. This is equivalent to taking 2,200 cars off the road every year. Similarly, water consumption will be 60% less than the industry average.
