ANZ recognised for Corporate Responsibility leadership
ANZ has received a Leadership Award for continued outstanding performance as part of the 2008 Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI).
The Award recognises ANZ's long-term commitment to
responsible business practice which focuses on:
- Providing simple, convenient and responsible products and services to our retail customers
- Ensuring our business lending decisions are guided by sound social and environmental standards
- Creating a diverse and inclusive workplace for our employees and a culture of innovation and out-performance
- Building financial literacy and money management skills in the community, with a particular focus on the most disadvantaged people in our society
- Reducing our environmental footprint.
The CRI assesses the effectiveness of a company's management and performance in the areas of workplace, community, marketplace and the environment. ANZ ranked fifth overall on the Index with a score of 96% and is a member of CRI's Leadership Network which aims to broaden the adoption of responsible business practices in Australia.
