ANZ Seeds of Renewal 2010 - Helping communities thrive

Seeds of Renewal is a small grants program providing funding of up to $15,000 to rural not-for profit organisations.

Independently administered by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) and proudly supported by ANZ, the program aims to assist small rural and regional communities work towards a more sustainable future.

Since it started in 2003, Seeds of Renewal has provided more than $2 million dollars in grants to more than 530 community projects.

What can be funded?

In 2010 grants will be awarded to projects that have a charitable purpose and contribute to the development of communities with a population of 15,000 people or less. Only not-for profit organisations with an ABN are eligible to apply.

Preference will be given to applications that:

Create education and employment opportunities (excludes wages);
Build financial capability;
Help bridge urban and rural social and economic divides; or
Support disaster recovery or preparedness.

How to prepare a successful grant application

Ensure your project meets the eligibility criteria above

Provide only the information requested, write in plain English and be sure to answer all questions.
Applications must be postmarked by 5pm, Friday 3 September 2010 and will only be accepted at the following postal address:

ANZ in the Community

Seeds of Renewal supports our commitment to helping to create thriving communities in regional and rural Australia.

In 2009, Seeds of Renewal funded more than 60 community projects including:

A new graderboard for the Millewa – Carwarp Landcare Group
Equipment for the training room of the Warragul Fire Brigade
Development of an interactive website/database for Wildlife Rescue and Protection
Equipment for a community run cinema

Social enterprise in the Outback – Flinders Flicks SA

In 2009 the Flinders Ranges Tourism Association was awarded an ANZ Seeds of Renewal grant of $4,200 which enabled them to purchase a cinema projector and create ‘Flinders Flicks’, bringing movies to small towns in the ranges that had no capacity to screen films.

Twelve months after ‘Flinders Flicks’ was formed, a core group of people can now run a film screening, operate projectors and PA, produce film posters and promote screenings. Local film makers have also shown their films at ‘Flinders Flicks’.
